Les Alignements de Carnac are the world-famous stones dating from the Neolithic age. There are about 3000 “menhirs” (upright stones), covering nearly 4 kilometres.

The site is classed as a Historic Monument.

There are many theories about why these unique stones exist but to this day, the mystery has not been solved.

In order to preserve and protect this patrimony, the local towns hope to have the site become classified within the world UNESCO Patrimony.
